Oz-Cop — Built For Cops, By Cops

Police resources for operational officers and recruits.

Oz-Cop builds reference applications optimised for desktop, tablet and mobile devices, giving officers access to the information they need, when they need it. Products are live for Queensland and New South Wales, with Western Australia in development and more to come.

Highly responsive online and offline, with every entry referenced from local legislation and manuals with links direct to the source, so officers can act with confidence in the moment, wherever they are. Oz-Cop is built for cops, by cops.

What every Oz-Cop app does

Works with no signal

The whole library is stored on your phone the first time you open the app. After that it works in a dead spot, a basement or with your data off.

The answer first

Every offence opens on its penalty, then the points to prove, the wording of the section and how it is dealt with. Powers show their conditions and limits.

Linked to the official source

Every entry carries its source, the date it was taken and a link to the official version. Where the app and the source differ, the source is correct.

Guides for real jobs

Step-by-step guides set out in the order you do the job, each citing the manual or Act it comes from. New: Incident Command (ICCS+) in both apps.

Ask in your own words

Ask a question and get a short answer drawn from the app's legislation and police documents, with the passages it used shown underneath so you can check it. Each member has thirty questions a month.

A starting point, not an authority

Ask uses AI. It can be wrong, or miss the section that matters. Read the passages and open the source. Nothing in the apps is legal advice.

What officers say

Reviews from members of each app. Every review comes from a signed-in member and is checked before it appears. All approved reviews are shown, highest rated first.

Who we are

Oz-Cop Pty Ltd is an Australian company, registered in Queensland. Its apps are built by a serving police officer with more than 20 years' experience in Queensland, the United Kingdom and the Cayman Islands, in his own time, for the officers he works alongside.

What the apps are

  • Independent reference tools for police officers, and for anyone preparing to join.
  • Publicly available material, the legislation and police services' public documents, reorganised so it can be found on a phone in seconds.
  • Plain-language summaries alongside the source wording, with a link to the official version.

What they are not

  • Not police service applications. They are not endorsed by, affiliated with or operated by any police service.
  • No police data. Nothing restricted, nothing internal, nothing from any police system.
  • Not legal advice. The official source always governs.

Privacy

An account holds an email address and the dates it was used. Searches run on your phone and are never sent anywhere. Each app's own site sets out exactly what is stored, including for Ask.

This page stores nothing about you and uses no analytics or tracking.
