The Oz-Cop app is a product of OZ-COP PTY. LTD. It opens one of three apps, each also a product of OZ-COP PTY. LTD.: Q-Cop (Queensland), NSW-Cop (New South Wales) and WA-Cop (Western Australia). This page sets out what is stored about you and where it goes. Each app also shows its own statement in the app under More › Privacy.
The Oz-Cop start screen asks which state you work in and remembers your choice on your phone, so the right app opens next time. The choice stays on the phone and nowhere else. The start screen uses no analytics or tracking.
You sign in to each app with your email address and a one-time code. Each app stores:
That is the whole record of you — unless you use Ask or leave a review.
While you sign in, a scrambled (hashed) copy of your sign-in code is kept for 10 minutes, and the app counts how many codes have been asked for your email address, for about an hour. Each device you sign in on gets a sign-in token, kept until you sign out.
The app's server reads your device's IP address only to make one-way hashed rate-limit keys. These stop too many sign-in codes, or too many account actions such as deleting an account, being requested from one connection. The address itself is never stored. The hashed keys and their counts are deleted automatically after about an hour.
Your account record is kept until it is deleted. You can delete your account at any time in the app: open More › Delete my account. You can also email elliott@qcop.org from the account's email address. How to delete your account, and what is deleted.
The apps and this site are hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages), and account records are kept in Cloudflare's storage.
Your email address is used to send your sign-in code and to tell you about the app. Those emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. Your address is not sold or shared, and is passed to no one other than the service that delivers the email.
What you search for in the app never leaves your phone. Searching runs against the copy stored on your own device — the text you type is not sent anywhere and cannot be read by anyone, including the people who run the apps.
So you can go back to them, your phone keeps your last ten searches and the last ten things you opened on each page, for 30 days. They stay on the phone and nowhere else, you can clear them at any time, and signing out clears them.
Ask works differently, because it has to. Your question is sent to the app's server and on to Anthropic, the provider of the Claude AI service, which writes the answer. Anthropic is based in the United States, so your question leaves Australia.
Because the question itself can name people, please do not type names, addresses, or QPRIME, event or incident numbers into Ask.
The QP9 Builder doesn't save or send what you type; it is cleared when you leave the QP9 tab. Your device's keyboard and spell check may learn words you type.
If you leave a review, the app stores your star rating, your words and the name you choose to show (or "Verified member"). Once it has been checked and approved, it may be shown on the app's own website and on oz-cop.com.au, never with your email address. You can change it at any time, or ask for it to be removed.
Signing out ends the session on that device and clears your recent searches, recently opened records and recent questions. The downloaded material stays on the phone and keeps working without signal.
