The Oz-Cop app is a product of OZ-COP PTY. LTD. It opens one of three apps, each also a product of OZ-COP PTY. LTD.: Q-Cop (Queensland), NSW-Cop (New South Wales) and WA-Cop (Western Australia). Each app shows you its own Terms of Use before you first use it, and asks you to agree to them. They are set out below, as each app shows them.
Version 4.0, 21 September 2026
Please read these before you use Q-Cop. You will only be asked again if they change.
Q-Cop is a personal reference tool that brings Queensland policing legislation and QPS procedure together in one searchable place. It is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
Q-Cop is not a Queensland Police Service application. It is not produced, endorsed, approved or supported by the Queensland Police Service, and it carries no QPS authority. It is an independent product, owned and operated by OZ-COP PTY. LTD. (“Oz-Cop”).
Q-Cop does not provide legal advice. Legislation, regulations and police procedures change, and they can be interpreted differently depending on the facts of a particular case. Nothing in Q-Cop is a substitute for legal advice, for QPS policy and training, or for the direction of a supervising officer.
Do not act, or decide not to act, on the basis of anything in Q-Cop without checking the source it links to. Every entry links to the original legislation or manual. Where a decision matters, open the link and read the source. Using Q-Cop at work remains subject to the QPS policies that apply to you.
The Guides are written for Q-Cop from the QPS manuals and the legislation. They are summaries set out in the order an officer does the job — they can simplify, and they are not a copy of the manual.
Every effort is made to reproduce and summarise source material accurately and to keep it current, but no guarantee is given that it is complete or up to date. Manuals and legislation are reissued regularly, and there may be a period after a reissue before Q-Cop is updated. The linked original always prevails over anything in this app.
Ask Q-Cop searches the material in this app, shows you the passages that answer your question with a link to the original, and writes a summary above them. The summary is written by AI and can be wrong — even when the passages beneath it are right. Read the passages. Open the link. Do not act on the summary alone.
Your account is for you alone — do not share your sign-in. What Q-Cop stores about you is set out under More › Privacy. When you agree to these terms, Q-Cop records against your account which version you agreed to and when.
Q-Cop reproduces material from Queensland Police Service manuals and Queensland and Commonwealth legislation under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licences. The full list, with each publisher's copyright notice, is under More › Sources, licences and attribution. The QPS logo and badge, the coats of arms and any trade marks are not covered by those licences and are not reproduced in this app.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oz-Cop accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from any action taken, or not taken, on the basis of information in this app. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
These terms may change as Q-Cop changes. When they do, you will be asked to read and agree to them again before you continue.
By selecting "I agree" you confirm that you have read and understood these terms, that you understand Q-Cop is an independent tool and not a Queensland Police Service application, that you will check anything you rely on against the linked source, and that you will not enter information about any real person, incident or investigation into Ask Q-Cop.

WA-Cop is a personal reference tool that brings Western Australian policing legislation together in one searchable place, with guides written from it. It is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
WA-Cop is not a WA Police Force product. It is not produced, endorsed, approved or supported by the WA Police Force, and it carries no WA Police Force authority. It is an independent product, owned and operated by OZ-COP PTY. LTD. (“Oz-Cop”).
